A chiptune artist with a chip on his shoulder, ready to wave some squares off the track.

Nario recently announced that he was going to get back into music.  Then, what, a week later?  He drops an album.  Yes, some tracks are familiar, but it’s all new in some way.  Actually there’s only one title I recognize, but he said something about re-releases so I probably haven’t paid close enough attention.  Anyway, it’s a fantastic return.  8bit glory.

I love his layered progressions and soaring melodies.  It’s a special treat if you ever get to see him share his music via webcam.  He’s into it and his body cues let you know the important parts.  There’s always another layer, and the more you hear; the more you see; the deeper you go.  Which reminds me, I have yet to read his album notes.  Always another layer. source: https://saturdayxiii.tumblr.com/post/184117379709

The tune that started looping in my head, seemingly from out of nowhere, today?

I’m down with the Dragon Series, but unfortunately, half the time, my tongue is not nuanced enough to tell the difference in hops. This was one of those times. source: https://saturdayxiii.tumblr.com/post/183992026209

nost. and Sam the Living at Arcadia.  We accidentally went to the Aviary, because I don’t read things right.  But we made it in time.  Great night of emo artsyness. source: https://saturdayxiii.tumblr.com/post/185506000804
